Piano Lesson Plan for Beginners
Lessons are focus on: Notation knowledge, correct posture, sound, technique and expression.
Introduction to the Instrument:
1. Name of the notes.
2. Location of the notes on the keyboard and their sound.
3. Number of fingers we have and use, starting with Right hand.
4. Understanding the difference in fingers, as numbers, and difference between the Right and Left hand.
Basics of the Music Notation:
1. Music Clefs (2 of them).
2. Notes length (duration), their rhythm.
3. Music Keys.
4. Time signature.
Basics of playing on the Instrument:
1. Play with Right hand, using 5 fingers without the switch (5 notes only).
2. Play with Right hand, adding the switch to play more then 5 notes.
3. Play Major scales, one octave (8 notes).
4. Play with Left hand, using 5 fingers without the switch (5 notes only).
5. Play with Left hand, adding the switch to play more the 5 notes.
6. Play Major scales with Left hand, one octave (8 notes).
7. Play Major scales with Both hands at the same time.
8. Play short pieces and Etudes (technical pieces).
